A big deal in Baltimore.

When we set out to help M&T Bank launch their new Ravens Check Card as part of the Banking Built for Baltimore campaign, we knew one thing for sure. Whatever we did had to be larger than life.  And so “The Raven has landed” was born.

We created a :30 TV spot that features Ravens Check Cards rocketing out of the sky and landing mightily at prominent Baltimore locations. The ground shakes, debris flies, and people take notice that something big has definitely arrived in town. To make an even greater impact, our old pal Todd Heap, the Ravens tight end, was back on board to help spread the word about the new card and the special offers from M&T. Pro Bowl running back Ray Rice even joined our team to help make the campaign that much more powerful.

To follow the TV’s lead, we featured the enormous cards – along with Todd and Ray – in in-branch materials, as well as external media including mall banners, Camden Yards train station signage, king kong bus ads, transit shelters. But what may be the biggest news is what we’ve put on top of a few key bus shelters. We were able to fabricate giant-sized, 3-foot by 5-foot Ravens Check Cards and affix them to the shelter roofs around Baltimore, complete with a broken glass effect. To any passerby, they look as if they’ve fallen out of the sky – as seen in the TV – and landed on the shelters.

We’ve always been big fans of interesting out-of-home marketing, so we’re particularly excited about this arm of the M&T campaign. But, most importantly, we’re pretty sure Ravens fans will dig it, too.
