CW@25

Today marks our 25th year in business. And, since I joined the company a mere two months in, I’ve had a ringside seat (when I wasn’t riding an elephant).

It seems like some observations are in order. Like, time flies! But you knew that. So, in no particular order, here are some other musings.

It is unusual for an agency to last this long. why is that? In a word, movement. Marketing people move. So accounts move. Then staffers move, by choice or not. And sometimes partners too. So, our relative stability can be traced back to one thing: longevity of client relationships. Now that’s worth celebrating! Thank you, dear friends.

You meet a lot of interesting people in this business. Captains of industry (Warren Buffet to name but one), supermodels (Christy Turlington), and entrepreneurs (the guy who wanted to…) most of them are nice and reasonable. But not all of them. And it doesn’t take long to note the difference. So we try to stick with the nice ones.

There is always another idea. In fact, running out of ideas just doesn’t happen. Running out of time, however, is quite common.

Doing pro bono for any other reason than to help someone is fruitless. So, don’t worry about who’s on the board. Just do it because it’s the right thing to do.

The business has really changed!

The business has not changed at all.
