I wonder what the Real Housewives of New Jersey are up to.

I remember last year while talking with a coworker, I discovered she and her husband didn’t have cable. I couldn’t believe it. How could someone live without TV? I honestly couldn’t comprehend such a life. No shows about rich people. No shows about people with too many kids. No shows about wedding dresses or pawn shops. No shows period. Unthinkable.

Fast forward to last week when I cancelled my cable.

No, seriously, I did.

It was kind of an impulse move, although I had been thinking about it for a while. I don’t know, it was all sunny out and stuff, I was feeling moral, and I just did it. My rationale being that it’s summer, and any free time I have should not be spent in front of a TV. I don’t know if I even believe that crap, but I guess I’m going to have to roll with it now.

I got the idea when I realized I hardly ever watched TV anymore, I was sure I wouldn’t miss it. But then, just a couple nights ago when my Facebook feed filled with excitement over the Lost finale, I kind of felt left out. Okay, so I’ve never even watched an episode of Lost in my life, but that’s beside the point.

We’ll see how long I last. But I think we all remember what happened when I tried to give up Facebook for lent.

I mean, I guess it’s kind of liberating. In a painful, unentertaining kind of way.
