It may not get better than this.

If you haven’t heard of the It Gets Better Project, it’s an effort started by a man named Dan Savage in response to tragedies involving gay teens who were bullied into suicide. Well, I hadn’t heard of it until I saw this gem.

The idea for the project is simple – let gay teens know their life will improve with time. And the vehicle is as well – gay adults submitting videos about their own experiences. What started as one YouTube video exploded into more than 10,000 video submissions – many from celebrities – viewed more than 65 million times in just two short months.

What I find so great about the commercial is that Google uses this powerful story to tell it’s own. By simply getting out of the way, when you’re hit with their logo at the end, you attribute those goose bumps to Google. It’s nice when a corporation seems responsible and takes a stand on the right side of an issue – even if it’s only with a TV spot. Nice one, Googs.
