Please make it stop.

About a month or so ago I saw this commercial for AT&T. I liked it. I liked it a lot. Saw it again, liked it again. Then I saw it three more times during some of my favorite shows that same night – still made me chuckle, but the joke was quickly getting old. Then I started to see it multiple times during every commercial break, on every station I watch. Even my boyfriend, who’s not much of the commercial commenting type, mentioned its repetitiveness. Even now, nearly 6 weeks later, it plays and plays and plays. And honestly, I don’t even watch that much TV.

I’d like to think I understand a thing or two about media buys (Erin likes to talk a lot), and have a general grasp on frequency and reach and all that jazz. But speaking from outside ad land for a moment, when your commercial is on so much that it takes someone from entertained to downright annoyed, that is very bad, yes? I suppose I should just be thankful Airport Plaza Jewelers doesn’t have that kind of money.
