Stocking up on midnight oil.
Not too long ago, our man Jeff had the idea of donating an ad campaign to a well-deserving Buffalo startup company. Brilliant. Then he decided the agency-wide effort should be completed over the course of one non-stop, 25-hour workday (in honor of Crowley Webb’s 25th anniversary, of course). Sheer madness. In any event, Crowley Webb’s Twenty-Five Hour Workday is set to kick off. And we couldn’t be more energized.
Here’s the deal in black and white. We’re holding a contest to award one lucky Buffalo-area startup company an advertising package. This could include anything from a logo to print ads to digital applications, depending on the needs of the big winner. Interested parties can enter the contest right on this very website beginning Labor Day – the hardest working holiday of all. From the pool of entrants, we’ll select finalists that will be announced on November 14. From there, it’ll be a social media frenzy to see which finalist can get the most backing to propel them into the winner’s circle. The victor will be announced on December 5. Then, we’ll rest up for about a month before the real fun begins.
We picture our 25-hour workday to be much like Navy SEAL training, only with snacks and soda. We’ll meet with the big winner at 8 a.m., have a creative brief put together before lunchtime, turn creative teams loose on concepts, share tissues with our new client in the evening, produce tight layouts overnight, and meet once more with the client at 8 a.m. sharp to share the final product. At 9 a.m. we all pass out. Oh, we cannot wait.
Want to get in on the fun? You just have to be a Western New York company in existence for less than 25 months (there’s that number again), share an enthusiasm for creative thinking, and be willing to invest some media dollars. Oh, and you can’t be in direct competition with one of our existing clients. Obviously.
So there you have it. Crowley Webb’s Twenty-Five Hour Workday. Genius? Complete insanity? Either way, it’s sure to be some ride.
