Take it down a notch, Activision.

I’m in a quandary, blog readers. I can’t decide how I feel about this commercial for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

On one hand, it’s one of the most creative spots I’ve seen for a videogame (usually they show a few clips from the game then call it a day). The production is pretty darn good. And clearly, it’s working, as the game is flying off the shelves to the tune of $650 million in five days.

On the other hand, is anyone else a tad uncomfortable with real people – kids included – shooting automatic weapons at each other? When real wars are going on around the world, should we be glorifying Jimmy Kimmel goofing around with a missile launcher?

I’ve never been one of those “video games promote violence” kind of people, but there’s just something about this commercial that gives me the heebie jeebies. What do you think?
