Crowley Webb is seeking an experienced public relations professional focused on media relations and business development to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in local, regional, and national media relations – among other PR disciplines – and have a strong professional network.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and leverage existing relationships with journalists, producers, and editors to ensure that news pertaining to Crowley Webb and its clients is being shared with the appropriate audiences
  • Cultivate new contacts and thought leaders in the media and business communities
  • Write and edit media relations strategies, plans, and outreach materials
  • Oversee public relations client relations and strategic development; provide senior counsel on top public relations accounts
  • Support team growth through delegation of tasks, management of the overall workload, and mentorship
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate public relations campaign results
  • Develop and market the agency’s public relations services
  • Collaborate with agency’s other departments to enhance project workflow and new business opportunities
  • Represent the department in agency new business and other meetings as needed
  • Lead certain new business efforts, including identifying new business opportunities, writing proposals, and presenting to potential clients
  • Represent the department and agency in the community through non-profit organizations and professional group affiliation and networking
  • Stay on top of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years related experience (public relations, journalism, marketing, business development)
  • Strong research, writing, editing, and client interaction skills
  • Strong relationships within the business community and with local, regional, and national media outlets
  • Proven track record strategizing and executing successful media relations campaigns at a local, regional, and national level; full understanding of media needs and media relationships
  • Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Comfort working in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform well under pressure
  • Desire to continue learning and evolving skillset
  • Crisis communications a plus
